Newcastle could turn to Dutch winger if Moussa Diaby move fails to materialise – The Athletic

The Athletic report that Moussa Diaby is ‘top of the wanted list’ in our search for a new right winger, however they’ve revealed a new name being tracked by Toon scouts.

Chris Waugh claims that Club Brugge star Noa Lang is being watched by the club’s recruitment team, suggesting he is one of several under consideration should we fail to sign Diaby.

Lang is a 23-year-old Dutch international who has just come off the back of an outstanding season in Belgium, bagging nine goals and 15 assists in all competitions.

He can play down either flank or as a second striker and has also been linked with Arsenal this summer, with some reports suggesting he’s Mikel Arteta’s ‘plan B’ if they fail to land Raphinha.

The Brazilian is actually mentioned by The Athletic as another right winger we’ve looked at, however the Leeds United star is believed to want Champions League football.

The same piece also names Jack Harrison (Leeds) and Brennan Johnson (Nottingham Forest) as two others on our radar, although the latter is expected to stay at the City Ground after he recently signed a new deal following promotion.

Back to Lang, here’s a few clips of the former Ajax talent in action:
