Sky Sports have become the latest outlet to confirm our interest in Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby, also offering an ‘update’ on our pursuit of Hugo Ekitike.
They report that Diaby is one of several wingers on the club’s radar, stating that there is currently a gap between what Newcastle are willing to pay and the fee the Bundesliga side are currently demanding.
As for Ekitike, it’s reported that there’s been ‘no movement’ on that front, with Pete Graves describing the move as ‘dormant’, as things stand.
Sky Sports insist that we remain keen on the player – suggesting a move isn’t completely off the table just yet – but state that other attacking targets are being focused on.
That brings us on to Armando Broja and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who are two names being ‘discussed’ by the club at present, reports Graves.
Everton are expected to demand big money for the latter – and could be reluctant sellers now Richarlison has left – while Keith Downie reported over the weekend that we’d like to sign Broja on loan, believing it could open the door to a marquee signing elsewhere. Diaby, perhaps?
