‘He’s back!’ – Future star spotted back on Tyneside and £150m of talent set to join him tomorrow

Elliot Anderson is back on Tyneside and bidding to impress Eddie Howe over pre-season following on outstanding loan spell at Bristol Rovers.

The Toon teenager bagged seven goals and six assists in League Two over the second half of the 2021/22 season and is expected to feature in a few of our summer friendlies before we decide on his next steps.

He’s been spotted training with group today and looks set to be joined by a host of first-team stars tomorrow, with Howe telling NUFC TV last week that our international players are due back on Wednesday.

This means the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Chris Wood, Miguel Almiron and Emil Krafth should be back at the Benton base tomorrow, while Sven Botman and Nick Pope could follow soon after – if not tomorrow – after being given extra time to prepare following moves to Tyneside.

Here’s a photo of Anderson back in training after his superb loan spell in Bristol and a summer break that saw him feature for Scotland U21’s:

Elsewhere, we should see forgotten man Jeff Hendrick return this week, with the Irishman representing the Republic of Ireland soon after his loan spell at QPR came to an end.

  1. Need to get rid of Chris Wood a £25 million flop.Take even £5 million for him.One of the Worst signings ever.

  2. Probably strengthened Burnley’s chance of staying up by joining us.
Hate to say it but Gayle would have posed more of a threat, or even Clark at Centre Forward!

  3. We are just managing him before getting a better striker… But Chris wood is still good for now
