Newcastle eyeing Parklands site after receiving impressive plans for new training ground – Report

An exciting update has emerged from The Mail’s Craig Hope regarding plans to build a brand new training ground at Newcastle United.

He’s revealed that plans have been drawn up for a facility at Parklands, which is next to the Newcastle racecourse – owned by the Reuben family.

Although things are still at the ‘research stage’, Hope reports that Newcastle-based firm Ryder Architecture are involved in the planning and have produced ‘very impressive’ drawings over the potential design.

It’s said that other locations are still being explored, however sources close to the club believe the Parklands site is the current favourite, with our new owners looking to build a long-term, state of the art training ground.

For the short to medium term, the club are making changes to the Benton base, with the North Tyneside council approving the much-needed improvements that are set to be made at our existing training base this summer.
