Newcastle respond to Bayer Leverkusen after club name Moussa Diaby price – The Telegraph

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle have made it clear they are ‘not ready to give up’ on Moussa Diaby – despite Bayern Leverkusen’s £60m demands.

Luke Edwards has revealed that the Bundesliga side will not consider any bid less than £60m – something that has led to a ‘deadlock in talks.’

However, sources close to the club insist Newcastle will keep plugging away in their pursuit of a player they’ve watched ‘extensively’ over the past 18 months.

The same piece states that a potential loan move for Armando Broja could free up funds to make a big-money move for Diaby, however it is not yet clear if Chelsea will allow the 20-year-old to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Even if Broja did arrive on loan, it seems our hopes of landing the exciting Frenchman depend on Bayer Leverkusen reducing their asking price, as Toon chiefs will not spend that sort of money on one player until more lucrative sponsorship deals are in place.

Hopefully our persistence pays off and the player pushes for a move to the Premier League, with Sven Botman’s arrival having the potential to convince others to take the leap towards this exciting new project.

  1. Does Richarlisons fee of £60m put any perspective on their asking price??.

It might be putting all our eggs in, but I’d sack Ekitike off and put that money with whatever we anticipated paying for Diaby & yet the lad through the door.

  2. Barbosa’s techniques is absolutely not below Jesus if one more skillful players no 10 pair with him that is perfect. His teammate no 21 Pedro is also with ability to grasp the chance to get scores, I think both of two only cost 20 M something, great deal !

  3. Most important things is that they are willing and eager to come and Pedro same with experience in Italy Florentino before. He is deserved to consider as a mainly central striker. No need any Broja or Gordon since cost too much.
