According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United have been in contact with Everton over a £35m deal for Anthony Gordon.
This comes from Mike McGrafth, who reveals that the ball is now in the Toffees’ court as they consider whether to cash in on the highly-rated winger.
Gordon was linked with a move to St James’ Park just yesterday, with 90min’s Graeme Bailey stating that he and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi have been identified as back-up options to top target Moussa Diaby.
The scouse attacker enjoyed a breakthrough season on Merseyside last year, being one of their star performers in an otherwise dismal campaign at Goodison Park.
He bagged four goals and three assists in all competitions and has three goals in four appearances for England U21s.
Gordon looks like a bright prospect, but it would be hugely underwhelming if we went from Diaby to him and a big surprise to see Everton sell one of their best young players.
