Newcastle line up move for another Chelsea talent alongside Armando Broja – The Guardian

According to The Guardian, Newcastle could be set to up their interest in Callum Hudson-Odoi after Bayer Leverkusen refused to reduce their demands over Moussa Diaby.

The Frenchman is believed to be the club’s top target in our search for a new right-winger, however the Bundesliga side are continuing to demand £60m for the former PSG talent.

As a result, The Guardian report that we’re ready to step up our interest in Hudson-Odoi ‘in the coming days.’

Eddie Howe is believed to be a big fan of the 21-year-old, who appears to be the second Chelsea talent we’re taking a close look at after strong links with Armando Broja – the Albanian who has recently returned from an impressive loan spell at Southampton.

The same piece states that the Newcastle United boss is also an admirer of Anthony Gordon, although it looks like Everton have absolutely no intention of cashing in on the England U21 star, meaning Hudson-Odoi could be pursued instead.

As a young winger who has bags of pace and the ability to play down either flank, it’s easy to see why Hudson-Odoi could appeal, with him slipping down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel and eager to get himself back in Gareth Southgate’s England plans ahead of this winter’s World Cup.

That said, I do wonder if these links are somewhat of a smokescreen in our bid to get Bayer Leverkusen to reduce their Moussa Diaby demands.
