Hugo Ekitike agrees deal in principle to join new club after rejecting Newcastle United – Report

According to reports emerging from France, Hugo Ekitike is edging closer to a big-money move to PSG.

This comes from Le Parisien, who report that the player has ‘agreed a deal in principle’ to join the Ligue 1 giants.

The same report also claims that the player and his representatives have ‘rejected’ an offer from Newcastle United, despite the fact we’d struck an agreement with Reims.

The structure of that deal was said to be €36m plus €10m in potential add-ons (£30m plus £8.5m), however it seems this is an offer PSG have been unwilling to match up until now.

As a result, Le Parisien report that the French giants are pleading with Reims to lower their demands for the 20-year-old talent – who clearly has his heart set on a move to the capital.

They also reveal details of the contract we supposedly offered to the Ligue 1 striker, claiming we were prepared to pay him around 250,000 euros per-month. This equates to a weekly wage of around £52,000 and is said to be FIFTEEN times more than he currently earns.

Hugo Ekitike is believed to be a big talent, but it’s probably a good job we walked away from this one if he isn’t all that keen on a move to St James’ Park.
