VIDEO – 28 players spotted arriving in Austria but 5 missing from official Newcastle footage

The Newcastle United squad have arrived in Austria for a nine-day training camp near Salzburg.

The pre-season trip will feature two friendlies, with us set to take on 1860 Munich on Friday 15th July (2.30pm kick off local time) at the stunning SaalfeldenArena Bürgerau, followed by a clash with Mainz 05 at the Kufstein Arena on Monday 18th July (kick-off 4pm local time).

The club have released a video of the squad checking into the team hotel on Sunday night, with the likes of Sven Botman, Nick Pope, Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier all featuring after sitting out of Saturday’s 5-1 win over Gateshead.

We spotted 28 first-team players in the clip – including U23 players Elliot Anderson, Kell Watts and Matty Longstaff – however there were five senior players who didn’t feature.

Dan Burn wasn’t in the video, while Javier Manquillo, Dwight Gayle, Jeff Hendrick and Ciaran Clark are also absent – not that anyone expected the latter to travel ahead of an imminent loan move to Sheffield United.

Here’s a clip of all the players arriving at the team hotel, followed by a list of everyone we spotted:

GOALKEEPERS: Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow, Mark Gillespie, Nick Pope.

DEFENDERS: Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Kell Watts, Matt Targett, Paul Dummett, Federico Fernandez, Jamal Lewis, Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Emil Krafth.

MIDFIELDERS: Bruno Guimaraes, Joe Willock, Jonjo Shelvey, Joelinton, Sean Longstaff, Matty Longstaff, Elliot Anderson.

WINGERS: Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie, Ryan Fraser, Jacob Murphy, Miguel Almiron.

STRIKERS: Callum Wilson, Chris Wood.

*Update: Dan Burn HAS travelled with the squad, despite not being included in any of the club footage, as per reports on Monday morning.
