The great content just keeps coming out of Newcastle United, with the club releasing in-depth footage of the squad’s first day in Austria last night.
We saw the players check into the team hotel on Sunday night ahead of a nine-day camp in the Alps, and Monday kicked off with double sessions as Eddie Howe put the group through their paces.
New signings Sven Botman and Nick Pope were both in action, along with U23 trio Elliot Anderson, Kell Watts and Matty Longstaff – who have all returned following promising loan spells in the EFL.
There’s no Javier Manquillo – he’s currently in Spain seeing a specialist as he battles injury issues – but there’s plenty of happy faces and hard work in the eight-minute video released by the club, showing the sort of sessions put on by our coaching team during day one of the camp.
Joelinton looks in great shape and Eddie Howe in his element as he bids to prepare the team – physically, mentally and technically – for the new 2022/23 season.
