Sky Sports: West Ham now in talks to sign two Newcastle United targets

It looks like we’re not the only Premier League side desperate to sign a top young striker, with West Ham now in talks to sign two names who’ve been heavily linked with Newcastle this summer.

As revealed by Sky Sports, Chelsea’s Armando Broja and Sassuolo star Gianluca Scamacca are both in discussions over a potential move to the London Stadium.

Like us, the Hammers seem intent on strengthening their forward line this summer after being reliant on an ageing and injury prone Michail Antonio – who’s in a similar predicament to the one Callum Wilson finds himself in on Tyneside.

After loan interest from Newcastle, Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth reports that David Moyes is eager to bring in Broja on a permanent move.

Keith Downie revealed last week that we were keen to sign the 20-year-old on a temporary deal – which would free up funds for a marquee signing out wide – yet the Albanian isn’t believed to be keen on another loan move should he leave Chelsea over the coming weeks. Could this explain why Alexander Isak has now emerged as a new top target? Who knows.

As for Scamacca, PSG have also been showing interest in the 6ft 5′ Italian – believed to have been watched closely by Steve Nickson – however the Irons have now snuck in after the Ligue 1 giants refused to pay the £42m fee placed on his head.
