Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe showed his class once again yesterday, making a surprise appearance at the Newcastle Foundation’s 1892 cup alongside his coaching staff.
More than 120 school children took part in the event – held at our training ground Little Benton – and were given the chance to meet and take photos with the Premier League manager and his coaches.
Jason Tindall, Graeme Jones, Ben Dawson and Simon Weatherstone were all pictured alongside Howe as they managed to take time out of their busy schedule to engage with the community.
Each child also received a new 2022/23 season kit to wear for the tournament and to take home with them as well as a medal for taking part in the event.
It’s yet another example of the strong connection and bond the club are trying to rebuild with the local area after years of neglect under previous owner Mike Ashley.
