Sky Sports: Newcastle could sanction FIVE more outgoings to allow for new signings

Sky Sports’ Keith Downie has released an update on potential outgoings at St James’ Park, explaining why several others could follow Dwight Gayle out of the NUFC exit door.

Downie expects up to FIVE more departures between now and September, believing the club are eager to create space in Eddie Howe’s 25-man squad to make room for new arrivals.

We’ve already seen five players leave this summer, with Isaac Hayden, Freddie Woodman, Ciaran Clark, Jeff Hendrick and Dwight Gayle all joining Championship sides over the past six weeks.

However, Sky Sports’ man in the North-East reports that ‘another 3-5’ could follow, with this raising doubts over the futures of several fringe men.

I’d expect to see another goalkeeper depart – Karl Darlow, perhaps – while squad men such as Federico Fernandez, Javier Manquillo, Matt Ritchie and Matty Longstaff have fallen further down the first-team pecking order in recent months, leaving them at risk of being moved on.
