Bookies name SIX signings Newcastle look most likely to pull off as transfer wait continues

Not famed for their reliability, it’s always worth a look at what the bookies are saying with regards to incoming players – especially while we’re all waiting patiently for a breakthrough

According to Sky Bet, the following six are deemed most likely to end up at St James’ Park by the close of play this summer:

  1. Lucas Paqueta – Evens
  2. Jack Harrison – Evens
  3. Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 9/4
  4. Anthony Gordon – 3/1
  5. Ivan Toney – 3/1
  6. Nicolas Pepe – 5/1

At evens are both Paquetá and Harrison. Recent reports suggest we could be priced out of a move for both, but the former is a name that’s just not going away.

The Brazilian has been backed to end up on Tyneside and form a special samba trio in the centre of St. James’ Park alongside Joelinton and former Lyon teammate, and close friend, Bruno Guimarães.

While it seems Newcastle’s desire to sign Harrison for £35m is close to zero as they exercise other options, SkyBet still say he is odds on to make the switch to St James’ Park.

Calvert-Lewin comes in at 9/4, with Sky believing he is the striker most likely to sign for Newcastle before the end of summer. His Everton teammate Anthony Gordon comes next 3/1, as is former Newcastle forward Ivan Toney, currently at Brentford.

Ivorian winger Pépé has the lowest odds of the six at 5/1, with the £72m Arsenal flop deemed a potential loan option after losing his place in the side to Saka.

  1. The problem with Newcastle is that he has to realize that Newcastle is no longer a smaller team players are expecting to get more wages than previously but if the coach fail to increase his buying price he will had to blame himself in the feature . This is a simple economic senaro . You cant expect agents to charge you like smaller teams. He should move form saying that he will not break the club buying records . When you need world class players you need to pay more MONEY or you start buying kids to be train at the teams academy . Just take a look how Man city , PSG And Chelsea build their teams. Those were the same rank to Newcastle. Am sick and tired of you just prepared for the same position (11) . This was why i had wanted the team to change this coach and bring a world class one .Man city bought Robino to boost the team
