As revealed by The Mail’s Craig Hope, Newcastle United look set to bring in Graeme Carrick – the brother of Michael – to take over the role of Under-18s coach as the club continue to recruit from top to bottom.

For the past 15 years, the 37-year-old has worked as a youth coach for the FA and has built up an impressive reputation in the world of football, but is now ready to come home and work for his boyhood club.

Both Carrick’s were exciting talents at West Ham’s academy, but due to significant injuries, Graeme’s footballing career was never able to take off and he returned to Newcastle in 2005 to become an academy coach.

Now, following Peter Ramage’s departure from his role of Under-18s coach, the former midfielder has returned to the club to work with the likes of Dan Ashworth; who he has a great relationship with.
