“It’s one to watch” – Eddie Howe now considering late move for Championship forward?

CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has revealed that Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis could be ‘one to watch’ as Newcastle continue their search for new attackers.

Although it is understood that Newcastle are yet to make any form of contact as of yet, it’s claimed Eddie Howe “likes the player” and Jacobs reports that this is one to keep an eye on.

The Nigerian forward had a fairly successful campaign last year on a personal level, despite the Hornet’s relegation, reaching double figures for goals while also racking up six assists in a lacklustre Watford team.

With the ability to play both as a striker and out wide, the 24-year-old could be key to squad rotation and helping to keep the likes of Callum Wilson fit throughout the season.

On Dennis, Jacobs said: “Emmanuel Dennis is another one to keep an eye on, simply because he was excellent for Watford even though they went down.

“I know that Howe likes the player. I don’t think Newcastle have made any kind of movement at this point, but it’s one to watch between now and the end of the window.”

While Watford would love to keep hold of their talented goalscorer, he is quite clearly far too good for the Championship and, if the interest is there, he may be tempted to a move to the North East.
