New João Pedro claims emerge as Newcastle look set to launch second bid for Watford star

João Pedro is ‘interested’ in completing a summer move to St James’ Park, according to The Chronicle.

The report insists that Watford remain determined to keep the highly-rated Brazilian as they mount a new push for promotion, but it seems the player is keen to sign on Tyneside if the two clubs can agree a fee.

It’s believed he will not attempt to force a move out of respect to Watford – who face Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s tonight – however it looks like we’ll test the Hornets’ resolve with another bid.

Fabrizio Romano claims that we are ‘pushing’ to sign the 20-year-old and will submit a new proposal ‘soon’ after our opening offer – worth £20m plus £3m in add-ons – was rejected on Monday.

As we revealed in an exclusive this morning, those in power at Vicarage Road value Pedro at £35m, being hugely reluctant to sell another key attacker after Emmanuel Dennis joined Nottingham Forest last week.
