Two players now keen to join Newcastle United in final weeks of transfer window – Reports

Some encouraging reports have emerged on the transfer front in the last few hours, claiming that Joao Pedro and Lucas Paqueta are both keen to seal moves to St James’ Park.

Starting with the Watford forward, Fabrizio Romano has offered a Thursday morning update on the highly-rated 20-year-old.

He claims that we are set to launch a new bid for the former Fluminense star in the coming hours, stating that the player is ‘keen’ to sign.

With Crystal Palace also in talks over Hornets winger Ismaila Sarr, Romano states that they will ‘decide soon’ how to move forward, having a reluctance to sell their entire front three after Emmanuel Dennis recently joined Nottingham Forest.

As for Lucas Paqueta, 90min reporter Graeme Bailey insists that Lyon’s asking price has dropped from £50m to around £33m, leaving him our preferred option to James Maddison now Leicester are demanding £60m for the attacking midfielder.

He also adds that the Brazilian is interested in joining his best friend Bruno Guimaraes on Tyneside, suggesting this is another South American that could be one to watch over the final two weeks of the window.
