Saudi PIF reaffirm Amanda Staveley deal and new CEO set to make appearance – The Times

As revealed by The Times, Amanda Staveley has received fresh backing from the club’s majority shareholder.

Martin Hardy’s exclusive reveals that Staveley’s management contract has been reaffirmed by the Saudi public investment fund, meaning she will continue in her role on Tyneside after landing a new deal.

It was believed by some that she would take a backwards step once a new CEO was in place at the club, however it looks like the 49-year-old will continue to play a key role in the day-to-day running of Newcastle United.

Staveley has a 10% stake in the club as part of the new ownership, with the Saudi controlling 80% and the Reuben family making up the final 10%.

In addition to this news, The Times also reveal that new chief executive Darren Eales will attend Sunday’s clash with Manchester City at St James’ Park and start his first day as the club’s CEO on Monday.

Eales recently left MLS side Atlanta United and arrives on Tyneside after developing a brilliant reputation over in the United States.
