Worrying pictures emerge from NUFC – Six players fail to train ahead of Bournemouth clash?

Newcastle United have released the latest set of training pictures ahead of Saturday’s clash with Bournemouth and there appears to be six senior players missing.

Based on the 28 photos published on NUFC.co.uk, it seems Allan Saint-Maximin, Bruno Guimaraes, Callum Wilson, Miguel Almiron, Jacob Murphy and Paul Dummett didn’t take part in Wednesday’s session.

ASM, Bruno and Wilson have all been managing hamstring injuries, although it was hoped they’d all be back soon after Howe described none of these as serious. However, with all three key men seemingly missing from training, fans are wondering if Saturday’s meeting with Bournemouth may come too soon.

This doesn’t necessarily guarantee that our attacking trio will be absent from this weekend’s game – they could have been granted time off – but it certainly doesn’t fill fans with confidence going into the fixture.

While there have been no reports of an Almiron injury or Saint-Maximin setback, academy product Elliott Anderson could well be handed his first Premier League start based on his impressive cameo in that 0-0 draw at St James’ Park last time out.

Let’s hope we can get back to a fully fit squad soon enough ahead of what’s going to be a very demanding season!
