Sky Sports: Player due on Tyneside to finalise personal terms as Newcastle strike early deal

It looks like Newcastle United have now struck a deal to bring Aussie star Garang Kuol to St James’ Park.

After Sky Sports revealed yesterday that a deal was ‘close’, they’ve released some breaking news in the last few moments confirming we’ve agreed a deal in principle to sign the 18-year-old striker.

The Central Coast Mariners talent is due on Tyneside to finalise personal terms and is expected to be officially named a Newcastle United player when the transfer window reopens on January 1st.

However, in order to overcome work permit issues, the forward will be loaned out to a club in Europe soon after he arrives in the new year.

Kuol made his debut for the Australian national side on Sunday in a 2-0 win over New Zealand, having impressed in the A-League with four goals and one assist in just 145 minutes of action:
