NUFC announce bonus match during World Cup as new owners bid to set English record at SJP

The club have announced that Newcastle Untied Women will return to St James’ Park next month to face Bradford City on November 27th.

After 22,134 supporters witnessed Wor Lasses’ 4-0 victory over Alnwick Town Ladies back in May, the club are hoping to set a new attendance record in their second outing at SJP.

The current record stands at 47,367, coming in Arsenal’s Women’s Super League derby with Tottenham on September 24, however Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Amanda Staveley are urging Toon fans to come along, support the ladies and make history on Tyneside.

With Premier League football breaking for the World Cup in mid-November – our final game before Qatar will see us face Chelsea on the 12th – this will be supporter’s last chance to attend St James’ Park until top flight football returns on December 26th.

Advanced tickets will be released at 10am on October 6th, priced at just £3 for adults and £1 for concessions at book.nufc.co.uk, while cash turnstiles will see tickets cost £6 for adults and £2 for concessions on the day of the game.

Here’s what Head Coach Becky Langley told NUFC.co.uk following the announcement:

“We are thrilled to be back at St. James’ Park. The support we received at the stadium in May was incredible, and we hope as many supporters as possible can come along in November to make it another very special occasion.

“We are very proud to be championing women’s football in the region and that our players are such fantastic role models. This is a great opportunity to showcase women’s football in the North East and we hope to continue inspiring a new generation of girls and women to play and enjoy the game.”
