Watch Eddie Howe score after surprising fans at Newcastle United Foundation event – Video

Eddie Howe and his coaching staff made a surprise appearance at a walking football and Football Talks session set up by Newcastle United Foundation as we approach World Mental Health Day.

The boss and his staff surprised fans at the NUCASTLE community hub where members of the group often discuss social issues such as isolation and anxiety.

Howe, alongside Jason Tindall, Graeme Jones, Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone also took part in a walking football match where the head coach scored past regular member and 72-year-old keeper Elaine!

Following the game, the coaches were invited to take part in a football quiz – where some members weren’t afraid to give Howe some stick – as well as to discuss how attending these sessions have helped many improve their mental wellbeing.

Surprise appearances at events like this just proves how committed this club is to reconnecting with the fans and the local community and highlights how lucky we are to have someone like Howe involved in it all.
