As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Man City to make Paul Midgley the club’s new head of youth recruitment.
It’s believed to be a ‘done deal’, with our owners continuing to improve ‘all areas’ of the football club.
The highly rated scout who was Leeds’ head of national academy recruitment before leaving the club at the end of last season.
During his time at Elland Road, Midgley was responsible for the recruitment of junior players between under-12s to under-16s age categories. He only joined Man City in August this year, where he became their youth scout for the northern area, however he’s now on his way to Tyneside to become our head of recruitment at youth level.
It’s great to see the club making another big move behind the scenes, with sporting director Dan Ashworth recently talking up the need to bring future stars to St James’ Park.
