Saudi chief spotted on Newcastle United night out as club strike another deal in the Middle East

Newcastle United have announced yet another Saudi-based deal today, as telecommunications provider stc have been added to the club’s ever-growing list of commercial partners.

They are described as ‘one of the country’s most recognisable brands‘ in an official statement on NUFC.co.uk, joining airline carrier SAUDIA in becoming an ;Official Tour Partner’ for our warm-weather training camp in Riyadh this week.

The partnership with stc will see them provide a digital presence during our mid-season friendly against Al Hilal on Thursday, with them also set to feature in and around St. James’ Park throughout the 2022/23 season.

On the subject of our trip to the Middle East, photos emerged on Monday evening of a team night out, where PIF Governor and Newcastle United Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan was pictured alongside the players, coaching staff, Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi; who described it as a ‘great evening with great people’ on Twitter.

Although these mid-season trips to Riyadh – our second of 2022 – are there to improve fitness, use top class facilities and boost togetherness within the squad, it’s clear that they also exist to build relations with Saudi Arabia, with it no coincidence that our partnership with stc has been confirmed two days into our visit.

With our FUN88 shirt sponsorship set to be replaced ahead of the 2023/24 season, it would be no surprise if another Saudi-based company fills that gap over the coming year!
