Two Premier League clubs set to launch bids for Newcastle United duo in January – Reports

According to new reports, Chris Wood and Ryan Fraser are both receiving Premier League interest ahead of the January transfer window

Football Insider claim that Leeds are preparing to launch a loan bid for Wood – who previously spent three seasons at Elland Road – just 12 months on from his £25m move from Burnley.

As for Fraser, the Northern Echo report that Southampton are expected to make an early move for the Scottish international in the new year after being identified as a fringe player who could be moved on

The Telegraph revealed last week that the former Bournemouth winger had asked to leave after growing frustrated by his lack of game time this season, however that same piece suggested Wood would NOT leave this winter unless a big offer came in for the Kiwi.

With this in mind, it seems clear that the club wouldn’t entertain a loan bid from Leeds, as he’s believed to be happy on and considered a reliable back-up option to Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson.

A January exit for Fraser seems much more likely, however, and a return to the South Coast could appeal for a player who spent the majority of his career at Bournemouth.
