Sky Germany: Newcastle eyeing World Cup star alongside Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Newcastle are prepared to battle Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund for the signing of Ajax star Mohammed Kudus.

He claims the Ghanaian has been identified as a potential Jude Bellingham replacement by Dortmund following his impressive displays at the Qatar World Cup, but reveals the exciting 22-year-old is also receiving Premier League interest from ourselves and Arsenal.

Kudus – an attacking midfielder who can also play out wide or up top – has been very impressive this season, for both club and country. He’s bagged four in six Champions League appearances, five in 14 outings in the Eredivisie and scored twice in Ghana’s three group stage games at the World Cup.

It remains to be seen if he’s someone we’re looking at this month or for future windows, but it seems we’ll face stiff competition should we step up our pursuit of the versatile African.

As of yet, Sky Germany report that there’s been no ‘concrete negotiations’ from any club, although Kudus is ‘aware of Dortmund’s interest’ and the prospect of a summer move.
