Major update arrives on Garang Kuol’s future as Newcastle decide on first loan move – Report

It looks like Garang Kuol is all set to swap Tyneside for Tynecastle.

According to a Sunday night update from The Mail’s Craig Hope, ‘it’s now been decided” that the 18-year-old will join Hearts for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

So, after Newcastle United sanctioned a temporary move away for the highly-rated teenager and gave him permission to speak with the SPL side, it seems Kuol is also happy to join the Jam Tarts.

After the Aussie was spotted in Edinburgh on Thursday, gossip around his Instagram post soon made sense as he, his agent and loan boss Shola Ameobi visited Hearts’ training ground.

Hopefully he gets plenty of game time and shows Howe what he’s capable of in Scotland; where he’ll be joined by three fellow Australians in the Hearts squad.

Here’s what manager Robbie Neilson said about links with the Newcastle striker just a few days ago:

“He’s a player we’re interested in so he came up for a look around with his agent.

“He’s got a number of clubs that are very interested in him. He’s a huge prospect. He’s one we’ve known about for quite a long time because he comes from the same team as Kye Rowles was at.

“The opportunity came to speak to him so we brought him up and we’ll see where it goes.

“It’s still at the very early stages. It will depend what other clubs are in for him. We’d love to get him here but we’ll just have to wait and see because he’s an 18-year-old who has been playing at the World Cup so I’m sure there will be a lot of suitors.”
