Newcastle have just signed the 12th most exciting teenager in world football – FourFourTwo

New recruit Garang Kuol has been named the 12th most exciting teenager in world football by FourFourTwo, with Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala and former target Benjamin Sesko all featuring in the top 10.

Kuol only recently sealed a January move from Central Coast Mariners, but is expected to be loaned out for the remainder of the season, with Hearts currently the frontrunners.

At just 18-years-old, Kuol has already turned heads in the A-league – despite not starting for his club – scoring twice and assisting three times in nine cameo appearances this season.

The young striker’s great form earned him a call-up to the Australian national team for the World Cup, where he almost equalised in the dying minutes of their last 16 clash with Argentina.

Big things are expected of the Aussie – who was ranked just behind Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka and Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott in the teenage top 50 – but there is certainly a long way to go.

In the piece, FourFourTwo had this to say on our new forward:

“Australia were 2-1 down to Argentina and it felt a surprise that even a lead so slight was the gulf. The ball arrived at the feet of the recently subbed-on Garang Kuol and he couldn’t adjust in time. In reality, the pass was made roughly four years too soon.

“The 18-year-old is the anti-Guimaraes, in that he’s a statement of Newcastle’s intent; the Brazilian for the present, Kuol for the future. But where Bruno is a midfield warrior, Kuol is a slight attacker to get onto his balls. There has never been a footballer from Down Under with this hype – not even the all-conquering Tim Cahill.

“He’s quicksilver when he glides away from defenders and explosive enough to find space away from them. His final ball is excellent, too. He looks primed to move on loan in January. He’ll be watched carefully by Newcastle fans.”

Hopefully this is just the start of Newcastle’s transfer revolution and we will soon attract more exciting young talents from all over the world.
