Sky Sports: Toon target set for transfer U-turn – New contract close despite Newcastle offer

As reported by Sky Sports in Germany, Youssoufa Moukoko is close to signing a new four-year deal with Borussia Dortmund – shutting down any hopes of a pre-contract agreement with Newcastle.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that we’d launched a ‘huge’ verbal offer for the 18-year-old to beat off the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona to his signature.

The teenage sensation is out of contract at the end of the season and was not expected to extend his deal with the Bundesliga giants, leaving clubs battling for his signature on a ‘free’ this summer.

But it now appears though Moukoko is prepared to commit his future with the German club after ‘positive’ negotiations on Thursday have led to an ‘agreement in principle’ being reached between the two parties.

The forward made two appearances at the World Cup for Germany and is one of the most promising young talents in Europe, scoring six and assisting four in 16 Bundesliga appearances this season.
