Newcastle United have agreed a fee with West Ham for Harrison Ashby.
As we revealed in an exclusive on Wednesday, the club were always confident both Ashby and Anthony Gordon would sign before Tuesday’s deadline.
A few days on, Newcastle have sealed deals for both, with FootballTransfers and Sky Sports now confirming that a £3m deal (including add-ons) has been struck between the two clubs.
Ashby is out of contract this summer and would be available at a cut-price fee at the end of the season following a tribunal, however he’ll now head north for a medical.
The Scotland U21 international will be signed to compete and learn from Kieran Trippier, giving us another option at right-back after an ACL injury to Emil Krafth left the Swede at risk of missing the remainder of the season.
He’s bagged 10 assists and three goals in 41 appearances for West Ham’s U21s, also featuring seven times for the Hammers at senior level.
