Newcastle’s response as PSG and Real Madrid plot moves for Botman and Bruno – Report

PSG are plotting a summer move for Newcastle United centre-back Sven Botman, according to Mark Douglas at iNews.

The same piece also highlights Real Madrid’s ongoing interest in Bruno Guimaraes. However, the message from St James’ Park is that we have ‘no intention’ of selling either player.

Instead, the club believe our ‘lofty ambitions’ will convince our star men to stick with this exciting new project, with Douglad reporting that both Bruno and Botman could be in line for new improved contracts to reward their superb performances.

It’s believed PSG were interested in Botman prior to his move to Newcastle, with advisor Luis Campos believing he is ‘destined to be one of the best defenders in Europe’, but it’s thought Newcastle are ‘relaxed’ about the situation.

With European football likely to be secured, in some capacity, ahead of the 2023/24 season, a source close to the club has told iNews that this could “open up a lot of doors” – not only for summer recruitment but for additional revenue streams.
