Four Mags set for Euro action, Botman blow confirmed and NUFC star spotted in Dubai

The Dutch FA have confirmed that Sven Botman has been forced to withdraw from the Netherlands squad after becoming one of five players to pick up a ‘virus infection.’

Botman had just received his first senior call-up to the national side and was due to be in their squad for their EURO qualifier against France tomorrow night, but he’s now left the camp and is unlikely to be recalled in time for Monday’s clash with Gibraltar. A huge shame for him, but let’s hope he recovers for next Sunday’s clash with Man Utd and makes the next Dutch squad.

Elsewhere, three Mags will be in action tonight and one tomorrow as qualifiers for EURO 2024 get underway.

Nick Pope will be in the England squad that travels to Italy tonight, forgotten man Jamal Lewis will take on San Marino for Northern Ireland and Martin Dubravka’s Slovakia face Luxembourg, while Alexander Isak will be part of the Sweden side facing Belgium tomorrow night.

As for those who didn’t receive a call-up, it seems Bruno Guimaraes has joined up with the Newcastle United squad in Dubai after a short break in the Maldives with his fiancée.

The Brazilian posted a picture from Dubai on his Instagram story this morning (see below), with Joelinton also expected to join our warm-weather camp in the Middle East after he too spent time away with family earlier this week.
