Sven Botman likes Instagram post linking £70m man with summer move to Newcastle

Just yesterday, Newcastle United were linked with an ambitious summer swoop for Declan Rice; a move Sven Botman clearly approves of.

It was reported that we’ve already make contact with his entourage and hope to beat Arsenal and Man Utd to a deal for the West Ham midfielder.

In response, leading transfer site TransferMarkt put out an Instagram post on our alleged interest, which Toon centre-back Sven Botman has liked.

With a new No 6 said to be one of our top priorities this summer, the England international would be an outstanding signing and real statement of intent. It would take huge money to sign the 24-year-old, but a midfield of Rice and Bruno Guimaraes would be a force for any Premier League side to be reckoned with.

Champions League football would be a must to attract him to St James’ Park – even then, there’d be intense competition for one of the best players outside the ‘big six’. However, he’d be joining one of the most exciting projects in European football and a few fellow Three Lions teammates on Tyneside.

Here’s the post Botman was spotted liking following talk of a potential move for the Hammers star:

  1. Rice would cost circa 85 million. But for me he is worth it. Its 25 mil more than Maddison but defo worthwhile.

Ugarte is another I’d love to see in black and white. Savic of Lazio would be around the 40 million price point and these two would be a similar cost to Rice but think wages could then be the issue.

We need two centre mids. Especially as the 4 we have started most games.
