It looks like Newcastle United are weighing up a summer move for Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo.
As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United scouts were in the stands to watch the Frenchman during their 2-1 win over Rennes last Saturday.
He reports that Manchester United and Liverpool officials were also in attendance at the Allianz Riviera to take a closer look at the 23-year-old.
Romano expects the highly-rated defender to join a ‘top club’ this summer, stating that Nice will consider offers in the region of €45m (£40m).
Todibo would tick several boxes in our search for a right-sided centre-back. He won’t come cheap and is clearly attracting plenty of interest, but he could be an ideal long-term partner for Sven Botman.
He’s known for his pace, athleticism and quality on the ball, which recently earned him a call-up to the French squad alongside fellow Toon target and Nice teammate Khephren Thuram.
