Mehrdad Ghodoussi’s post-match promise and Bruno’s celebration explained – Just brilliant

Last week, Bruno Guimaraes went to meet Arthur Salters-Hoult; a young Wallsend lad who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia early this year.

It was a lovely touch from the Brazilian and amazing to see the big smile it brought to Arthur’s face, but our midfield maestro wasn’t done there.

After scoring in stoppage time to seal a 4-1 win last night, Bruno dedicated his goal to the young Geordie, making an ‘A’ sign with his hands as he celebrated in front of the Gallowgate.

That touch of class was followed by our post-match team photo, which featured Bruno holding a Newcastle shirt with the words – ‘You can beat this Arthur!’

If that wasn’t enough, co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has promised to bring Arthur and his parents to a game when he’s feeling better, ‘formally inviting’ them to the directors box.

We’d like to send our love and best wishes to Arthur. Keep fighting young man – St James’ Park awaits!
