Some positive news to report ahead of tonight’s clash with Leicester at St James’ Park, as Jacob Murphy looks set to return after overcoming a groin problem.
He’s expected to make the squad after failing to feature in our last two games, while there’s also positive news on Sean Longstaff.
It’s unclear if the midfielder will be fit enough to start, but it’s our understanding that he took some part in training over the weekend, suggesting he is closing in on a return to first team action.
There were fears a foot injury picked up at Everton would keep him out for the remainder of the season. He’s missed out last four games since that 4-1 win on Merseyside, however there’s hope he could play some part at Chelsea should he miss out tonight.
So, Murphy back in the squad and Longstaff making good progress. All that’s left is a result tonight to make certain of a top-four finish!
