Newcastle United stars join co-owners in releasing end-of-season statements

The 2022/23 season is over and a host of Newcastle United stars have taken to social media to reflect on a superb year, with co-owners Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben also releasing their own messages.

We couldn’t sign off with a win at Chelsea, instead settling for a 1-1 draw, but it’s been a season full of highs, featuring a run to the cup final, a top-four finish, plenty of goals and just FIVE defeats; the joint lowest in the league alongside Man City.

Here’s some of the post-season messages released by players and owners after yesterday’s game:

Mehrdad Ghodoussi ‘What an incredible season, so proud of this team and everyone associated with it. A huge thank you to all of you, for your unwavering support, you are the best and we never forget that. Next season won’t be easy, but I know we will give it our all.’

Jamie Reuben‘Incredible indeed – thank you to all the traveling supporters today and every day as well as the entire @NUFC family, we have lots to look forward too, let’s keep UNITED and continue moving onwards and upwards.’

Anthony Gordon – ‘About time! Thank you for all your support this year- I’m loving the new song. See you in Europe.

Bruno Guimaraes – ‘Pain, blows, injuries and mental fatigue. This may have been my most physically and mentally demanding season! I’ve gone through a lot of adversity and learned to know my body in a way that I had not yet understood! Facing many battles with myself and my head about want and power! Thank God today I can say everything went well. A season of much learning and knowledge closes for a new cycle that is about to begin. Accomplished by going over all barriers and most importantly with duty accomplished! This is so priceless! Let’s go forward and soon more challenges ahead.

Fabian Schar‘Another point on the board to finish off the season!!! Gonna miss playing in black and white for the next few weeks.’

Sven Botman – ‘Last game of the season, what a ride it’s been! Charge the batteries and we’ll be ready for our next challenge.

Lewis Miley – ‘What a day and what a feeling!! Making my Premier League debut for my boyhood club. Thank you for all the messages!

Elliot Anderson ‘Great feeling to be a part of such a successful season! Thanks for the continued support @NUFC fans.’
