“I had a conversation with Eddie” – Howe talks revealed as Mag speaks out on uncertain future

Martin Dubravka has been speaking about his future at Newcastle United after his first Premier League start of the season on Sunday.

The Slovakian reveals that he’s held conversation with Eddie Howe about his role at the club, having an ‘open conversation’ about his future after slipping behind Nick Pope in the pecking order.

His latest quotes suggest he’s pretty conflicted. He’s got ‘ambitions to play’ and will realise he’s no longer our No 1, but is enjoying being ‘part of the journey’ following our incredible rise from relegation battlers to the to top-four.

Howe recently said he’s get a ‘lot more football’ next season due to the hectic schedule coming our way. So, does he stay as back-up and take the opportunities that come his way or leave for regular first-team football elsewhere?

Here’s what the 34-year-old had to say when asked about his future:

“I think it’s normal everyone who has ambition wants to play. But I’m still part of the journey and part of the team which is successful.”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen after the summer, obviously. I had a conversation with Eddie. We had an open conversation about the future.”

“It’s hard to say now, because it’s the end of the season now, and no-one really knows what will happen. It’s hard to give you some answers. Now I just want to switch off. I have two international game to focus on. That’s my priority now.”
