Newcastle release 4-minute tour of transformed training ground - A must-watch!
Newcastle United have released a behind the scenes tour of our upgraded training base in Benton.
Loan coordinator Shola Ameobi leads the tour, showing the new entrance, canteen, recovery chambers and cinema room; which allows the players to re-watch match footage.
Shola also shows off the improved changing rooms, a sneak peak of Eddie Howe’s office and the brand new hydrotherapy room added to our Benton base, along with footage of welcome additions to the outdoor space; including social areas and volleyball nets. Watch the brilliant tour below:
Back in October 2021, Amanda Staveley vowed to improve our facilities - "The training ground is really awful and needs a huge amount of investment. There is no point in having fantastic players if there is nowhere for them to train. We are in the market to compete for world-class players. But if you don’t put the infrastructure around that world-class player, you’ll get nowhere.”
Now, in May 2023, we finally have a training ground fit for purpose.
