Newcastle complete double deal as two more teenage talents sign on Tyneside – Report

According to reports, Newcastle United have completed deals to sign Port Vale youngster Michael Mills and Oldham talent Sam Alabi as our academy recruitment continues.

The pair of promising teenagers will go straight into our Under-15s/16s and are hopefully just a sign of things to come as we continue to build from top to bottom following Dan Ashworth’s arrival.

Mills, who is just 14-years-old, impressed during a recent trial with the Magpies and although he had several other clubs chasing his signature, it looks like he’s chosen Newcastle.

Following the signings of Garang Kuol and Yankuba Minteh, it was reported last night via Fabrizio Romano that we’re in talks to sign 16-year-old England youth international Leo Shahar; a highly-rated full-back currently on Wolves’ books.

This all comes after Ashworth appointed over 13 new talent spotters to aid our search for emerging talent both up and down the country and around the globe, transforming our recruitment department below first-team level.

Hopefully Mills and Alabi can settle into life on Tyneside and rise through our academy ranks over the coming years.
