Saudi giants agree £47m deal as former Toon target looks set for Middle East move

According to widespread reports on Sunday afternoon, Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves will become the latest name to join the Saudi Pro League after Al Hilal agreed a £47m deal.

Newcastle were tipped to make a mov after his proposed move to Barcelona collapsed earlier this week. However, the Portuguese international is now in advanced talks with the Middle East giants, as revealed by The Athletic.

With just 12 months remaining on his current deal at Molineux, £47m is a huge offer for the 26-year-old. It’s no surprise Wolves are eager to wrap up the transfer.

As for Neves himself, it’s reported that he’ll earn TEN times more than his current salary by Al Hilal. It’s a poor move from a footballing point of view, yet he won’t be the last Premier League player who’ll be tempted by the huge money on offer in the Saudi Pro League.

Al Ittihad recently wrapped up the signing of Karim Benzema and look set to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante. Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays for Al Nassr, while Al Hilal were beaten 5-0 by Eddie Howe’s Mags in a mid-season clash last December.
