EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle eyeing cut-price deal for Tosin Adarabioyo

Newcastle United are showing interest in Tosin Adarabioyo; the Fulham defender who looks almost certain to leave this summer.

With Eddie Howe in the market for an athletic, right-sided centre-back able to compete with Fabian Schar, he ticks several boxes for Newcastle and looks set to be available at a cut-price fee.

The 25-year-old is out of contract in 12 months time and it’s believed talks over a new deal have now ended, with the player rejecting their latest offer and signalling his intent to leave. As a result, Fulham are resigned to him leaving and will cash in while they can.

There’s a number of reasons why Adarabioyo appeals to Howe and Newcastle. Not only is he 6ft 5′ and surprisingly mobile for a player of his height, the former Man City talent is composed on the ball and comfortably playing out from the back. His Premier experience and ability to play as a right or left-sided centre-back is also valuable.

Should we up our interest, this could be a low-cost, low-risk deal with plenty of upside, allowing us to spend the bulk of our budget on a couple of top quality attackers while recruiting a competent defender who could develop his game even further under Eddie Howe.
