Newcastle United have released a 7-minute video with Yasir Al-Rumayyan; the club chairman and governor of the Saudi Public Investment Fund.
Speaking to NUFC TV, he speaks about our “great achievements” over 2022/23 – where we secured a top-four finish and reached the final of the Carabao Cup – believing we have the right people in place, both on and off the pitch, to keep growing as a club.
He’s also hailed the support from Newcastle fans and the passion that he’s seen on Tyneside, insisting it’s the perfect ‘recipe for success’ if you combine quality players, staff and financial backing with a city that’s united.
Al-Rumayyan also reveals that our revenues are increasing through the Champions League and additional sponsorship deals, highlighting the importance of this in our bid to stay within Financial Fair Play restrictions.
With plans to improve the squad and improve our first team, he hopes to make Newcastle the ‘number one’ club in England; a bold but exciting claim from our chairman! Watch the clip in full below:
