According to talkSPORT, Southampton are now pushing to sign Norwich’s Max Aarons as a potential replacement for Tino Livramento; who remains a key target after our £30m offer was rejected.
While no news has broken on another bid, the fact that Aarons is being targeted by the Saints suggests that the 20-year-old is on his way out at St Mary’s.
Elsewhere, the fact Harrison Ashby is set for a medical at Swansea also bodes well. With Krafth still injured and Manquillo expected to leave, would we sanction that loan move if we didn’t have real confidence Livramento would sign? I doubt it.
The Championship club have rejected all of Newcastle’s bids so far, valuing the right-back at £40m, but they may look to cash in while they can and accept defeat if the player is pushing for a move.
Hopefully we start to see some movement in this deal in the coming days as we continue our pursuit for the exciting young full-back.
Seems like a great player but Im curious to see him at leftback. A right footed left back could be an asset as an inverted fullback. Interesting thinking from ashworth and howe.

How does the potential medical for Harrison Ashby at Swansea and the injury status of Krafth and expected departure of Manquillo influence the decision to possibly sanction a loan move, and what role does the confidence in signing Livramento play in this decision?
