Hugo Ekitike in talks to join Premier League rivals on loan from PSG – Fabrizio Romano

After stalling on a move to Newcastle last summer and eventually ending up at PSG, it looks like former Toon target Hugo Ekitike could be on his way to the Premier League.

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Everton are negotiating a loan-to-buy deal for the French forward following a disappointing 12 months with the Ligue 1 giants.

The Toffees are thought to have ‘concrete interest’ in the 21-year-old and are negotiating an initial loan that would include an obligation to buy at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Ekitike scored just three goals in 25 league appearances for PSG last season, struggling for game time behind the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe – as we all expected.

A year later, he’ll be wishing he accepted Newcastle’s offer, with a move to Everton – who narrowly avoided the drop last season – a real step down from Champions League football at St James’ Park!
