Newcastle to launch £30m bid as club 'move goalposts' over Crystal Palace deal - Report
According to Alan Nixon at The Sun, Newcastle are preparing a £30m bid for Lewis Hall in a bid to hijack his proposed loan move to Crystal Palace.
As we revealed earlier this month, Chelsea rejected our loan enquiry for the 18-year-old talent and initially made it clear he was 'not for sale', preferring to send the left-back to Selhurst Park instead.
However, Nixon reports that Chelsea have 'moved the goalposts' with Palace and could change their mind on a potential permanent exit, with the 'right offer' likely to be considered in a bid to balance the books at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are about to pay in excess of £165m for Bighton's Moises Caicedo (£115m) and Southampton's Romeo Lavia (£50m + add-ons) and may need to raise funds after another 'crazy summer' of spending.
With that in mind, Newcastle have have been given encouragement on Hall, believing a permanent move to St James' Park may be possible after our initial enquiry was knocked back by Chelsea.
Sky Sports and The Telegraph have both reported on our interest in Kieran Tierney today, while Chelsea's Marc Cucurella is another option believed to be under consideration. However, it's thought the latter would only leave if we committed to a permanent deal now or loan move which includes an obligation to buy next summer.
