Sky Sports have confirmed that Isaac Hayden is closing in on a loan move to Premier League new boys Luton Town.
It was first reported this morning by Football Insider that he was all set to join the Hatters and Sky Sports have now revealed that he underwent his medical in London today.
The 28-year-old still has just under three years left on his contract at St James’ Park and is believed to earn around £40,000 per-week, so hopefully Luton pay a decent chunk of his salary over the coming season.
Hayden will become our tenth departure of the summer following permanent exits for Allan Saint-Maximin (Al Ahli), Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) and Karl Darlow (Leeds), along with loan deals for Ryan Fraser (Southampton), Jamal Lewis (Watford), Yankuba Minteh (Feyenoord), Garang Kuol (Volendam), Harrison Ashby (Swansea) and Kell Watts (Wigan).
With loan moves secured for Fraser and Hayden over the past few days, let’s hope we can find someone to take Jeff Henrick off our hands!
