Bookies release Newcastle’s odds to qualify from UCL group vs PSG, Borussia Dortmund & AC Milan

A week today, Newcastle’s Champions League adventure finally begins with a trip to AC Milan.

Many believe we’ve landed the ‘group of death’ alongside PSG, Borussia Dortmund and Milan, so it’s interesting to see how the bookies rate our chances

Based on Sky Bets odds, here’s how they have it:

To qualify from Group F:

  1. PSG – 4/9 (1.44)
  2. Newcastle – 8/13 (1.62)
  3. AC Milan – 5/4 (2.25)
  4. Borussia Dortmund – 13/8 (2.63)

To win Group F:

  1. PSG – 11/8 (2.38)
  2. Newcastle – 2/1 (3.00)
  3. AC Milan – 4/1 (5.00)
  4. Borussia Dortmund – 5/1 (6.00)

So, based on the bookies’ early projections, we’re currently deemed more likely to qualify than AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, showing there’s still plenty of faith being shown in Eddie Howe’s Mags despite our slow start to the Premier League season.

The outright odds to win the Champions League also tell a surreal story. At 20/1, we’re priced level with Inter Milan and Man Utd. Only SIX clubs (Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, PSG) are considered more likely to win it than Newcastle, with Atletico Madrid (22/1), Napoli (25/1) and AC Milan (40/1) all priced at longer odds.
