It was a brilliant day for Newcastle United’s loan stars on Saturday, as Yankuba Minteh’s goal and assist for Feyenoord was followed by a stunning strike from Garang Kuol.
The Australian international is also playing in the Eredivisie with Dutch minnows Volendam and scored his first for the club at Fortuna Sittard.
He’s started each of their last two league games and got off the mark in brilliant fashion, curling into the top corner from 20 yards at the end of a counter attack. Watch below:
Kuol’s previous loan spell at Hearts didn’t go to plan over the second half of the 2022/23 season, as he struggled for game time and scored one in nine appearances.
Hopefully he can get regular starts with Volendam and kick on from here. They’ve lost all four of their opening league games and sit bottom of the Dutch league, but it could be a big year for the teenager if he gets regular minutes.
